School activities - 2014
Friday, 2 January 2015 | 23:44 | 0Comment School session 2014 had been the most exciting one for me. So now I'm gonna do a quick review on what I during school session last year. :D 1) Netball Tournament. Kinda hard to believe but I've been a netball player for 7 years now. I didn't say that I was a good one. This was the least liked activity that I joined. Games turn into such bullsh*t (for reasons that only I know) and I think I won't be participating next year.
2) English Debate Competition. I was really excited when I joined my school's debate team xD It was my first time and I was thrilled because finally I can do something with my talent (that is sarcasm and arguing lmao). I had never have so much fun with talking english and use sarcasm in my life xD In debate, sarcasm is a crucial thing to have ;) We weren't hoping on winning but we managed to get 3rd place! Yeayyyyy! I'm definitely gonna join again next year if I have the chance. Debating is awesome. (Don't even try to argue with me on this)
3) Choir. Same like last year, I joined my school's choir club. This is my most favorite thing ever! I love singing and this is the best platform I can show my passion to. As a singer, I am an alto. For the district level, we got 1st place! Yeayyyyy. It was totally awesome. but due to some
4) "Puisi dan Lagu" Competition (Poem and Song) This is the first time I join the "Puisi and lagu" team that represented our school, I joined a couple of times before but that was only in school level. I joined the team as the poet, it was a last minute decision because the real poet that was supposed to join back out on the team then I only had 1 week to practice the poem. I tried my best though. Luck wasn't on our side, we didn't make it to the top 3. But I had a great experience! Other than the competition, we also performed for the 5 in 1 Celebration at our school, it was my worst performance ever. We only had like 3 days to practice and I didn't memorized my poem but it turned out okay. Maybe. Hahaha
The music club organized a talent competition and we name it Talent Time. It was a competition for all talents related to music, like singing and other stuff. I didn't compete though, I only joined the production team, as the Program Director. It was a really tiring job but thanks to my cooperative teammates and helpful teacher, the competition was a huge success! It turned out better than I expected. I'm not sure if I'll join the production team or for this year but I hope I can.
This is a school level activity where we run in a distance from school and through a path to get back to our school. I don't really care about getting in the top 100 but this time I was determined to get a number hahaha.
PPDa is the acronym for Pendidikan Pencegahan Dadah and our school was chosen to compete in the state level. The competition was to rise the awareness of drug education to the school and to do that, we decorated and renovated a hallway into a PPDA Hallway. We worked really hard on it and stayed in school until 4am to complete the work. We only managed to get 3rd place but it was worth it.
Ciao, thii Labels: 2014, choir competition, debate competition, ko-kum activites, larian merdeka, netball, pertandingan PPDa, poem and song competition, puisi dan lagu, school life, SMK Keningau II, talent time I miss you, dear Gunung Kinabalu! Part 2.
Thursday, 27 November 2014 | 04:34 | 2Comment So yeah, where did I stop? Oh the 2 am climb. Okay lets continue. So I wake up earlier than I was supposed to. The others went for breakfast but I didn't felt hungry that time. Worrying if I might pass out due to starvation, I ate a little bit of Maggi Ayam xD And I forgot to mention before, when climbing, climbers will bring chocolate with them to keep them from starving. So during the climb I packed myself with many chocolate so I won't feel hungry. After listening to our guide's talk about the 2kilometres climb, I turned on my head-light, said "Bismillah" and started my way. It was still very dark when we started climbing and there were so many people. We got into this line and slowly walk/climb towards the top. I swear, climbers are among the nicest people on Earth! Maybe it was because I younger than the majority, I received many "Good luck"s wishes from them. This young chick ain't giving up just yet! Haha. I was still okay when we climb the stairs part of the path but when we got the the rocky parts, I started to felt really scared. I remembered that my guide said that there were some people that actually died because they weren't cautious there. After 1 kilometer of climbing, I decided to rest a little after I find a place that didn't blocked the path. Then there I saw it, Kundasang and Ranau under the pitch black sky, stars above them, the moon was shining even though it was raining. I could see the roads and street lights, and lights coming from building and houses, there were some cars on the road even though it was still very early. I felt small but I was thankful. Thankful to see this wonderful creation by Allah. Subhanallah. Allahuabar. It was very beautiful, I nearly cried. And after that breathtaking moment, I continued my way. By the time I reached the 8 kilometer mark, I was mentally drained. I wanted to stop climbing because the path seems to just go on and on forever. Many climbers rushed to the Low's Peak so they can watch the sunrise by then. Knowing that I won't reach there in time, I sat down somewhere where I could watch the sunrise by myself. A few meters in front of me were a couple of foreign climbers, both were blond. They covered themselves with a blanket and just hug and talk for some time and I just watch them from behind. They were very romantic. Guess what I'm doing with my future husband when I get married? Yeahh future husband, we are going mountain climbing and do the same thing like the couple did. Take note and prepare your romance okay? :P I decided it was really a waste if I didn't reached the top, so I started climbing again. By that time, many climbers already climbed down and my mind was freakingly telling me to stop. I told my guide that I was too tired, too cold, to continue the climb. Then he said "If you don't reach the top, you won't get your certificate. All this would just be a waste. Do you want that?" and threatened me in every way a guide should. So I said, "Give me your gloves and jacket and I will reach the top." So, on that nearly 0 degrees mountain, he took of his jacket and gloves and gave it to me. He took my right hand (was a normal thing for climber-guide situation) and dragged me to the top. And at 8 or 9 am, I reached the Low's Peak of the Kinabalu Mountain. I reached the my mom and told here I made it. The view? It was breath taking, I can't put it into words. *cries of joy* After taking some pictures, we head down back to our rooms and took our breakfast. After that, we continued the 6 kilometres hike down and went souvenir shopping and went straight back home. I went home and rested, woke up the next day, went to school and took my PMR Trials that I didn't studied for. My body ached so much that I couldn't go to school the second day after that, woops shame on me xD I also got sunburned. Yeah I was an ugly dark school girl for 2 weeks. And that was my story, the story of a young girl who climbed the Mount Kinaabalu. I hope you enjoyed it and please forgive my "very good" grammar. xD Below are some pictures;
I'm missing you, dear Gunung Kinabalu!
Wednesday, 26 November 2014 | 07:41 | 0Comment Is it possible to miss a mountain? Yes, it is. A year ago, 20th of August 2013 to be precise, I climbed the tallest mountain in south-east Asia. I was very lucky to get the chance in such young age. (I was 15 years old that time) It started out when my aunt cancelled on going but it was already paid for so they needed a replacement that was me! At first, I was still having second thoughts on going because it was very close to my PMR Trials. But then I thought, "Hey, there's thousands of people wanting to have this chance so why should I just let it go?" so I decided to go. Besides, it was a free trip to climb the Gunung Kinabalu, who wouldn't go? And so, thanking my beloved mother for giving me permission, I started to pack my things and listing the things I need to buy and I had less than 24 hours minus school time to do it. Talk about last minute preparation lol. With enough determination, I managed to do it and head to Ranau that evening (19th August 2013) My cousin, my uncle and his wife (not the one who cancelled to go) and I reached Ranau at about 8 or 9 pm, and head straight to a small homestay. We went to our rooms and had some rest, there I met the others that was participating the expedition. We rested for a bit and then went to the town to have our dinner. After that, we went back to the homestay and rested. The next day, I felt butterflies in my stomach the second I woke up, I was thrilled and nervous at the same time. I was gonna climb a mountain and I had no exercise. Every climbers should at least have fitness exercises for 1 week and I had none. I was worried that I couldn't reach the top. At 7.30 am, we head to Kundasang after buying our breakfast. Upon reaching the Kinabalu Park, there were so many foreign and local climbers and the all looked so professional. All they're climbing gears and attire were awesome, while there I was with an over-sized jacket that I borrowed from my aunt, dark blue jeans and tribal shawl that I ridiculously tied on the "very appropriate" style to climb a mountain. We registered and got in the bus that took us to a 10 minutes ride to the gate.
To reach the top, first we had to hike for 6 kilometres to reach Laban Rata where there are rooms and restaurant where we can eat and rest. Long story short, we started climbing at around 8 or 9 am and reached Laban Rata at 5 pm. It took longer than it supposed to because it was raining! I was so frustrated because I was wet, my clothes were wet, it was freaking cold, the path was super slippery (thank god I didn't fell anywhere) and I effing tired. I'm really thankful to one of my teammates that I had forgotten his name (oh god I'm so sorry) that had stayed with my cousin and I and helped us. The foreign climbers were very nice, whenever I come across them, they would stop to say hi and good luck, not like some local climbers that just pass me like I was wind ha ha ha.And there was one very handsome korean around my age that said "Anneyonghaseo! Hwaiting!" to me and I melted like butter on hot pancakes even though it was freezing cold. lmao lmao xD That guy really fueled me energy hahaha.
Upon reaching the restaurant, there were so many people there. The first thing that I did was dipped my hands in hot water that was meant for making hot beverages and the water didn't even felt a little warm. After resting and eating, we had to hike another 200metres to reach our room. It was already dark and it was slippery but I managed to made it safely. We rested and did what we had and continued our journey at 2 am the next day. 2.00 am people. Just imagine my level of tiredness and nervousness.
So, my story ends here. Nahhh just kidding, I'll continue it at part 2. This is all for now, Thii SCHOOL IS OUT!
Friday, 14 November 2014 | 00:22 | 0Comment Wow, this post is clearly overdue xD So, just like all the past years, we don't have any plans to go on a vacation anywhere. Unless my parents are planning a surprise for us then that would be awesome. I was planning on getting a job this holiday but currently there are no job offers for a So now, my mum told me to learn sewing from my aunt at her store. And somehow I agree but I only been there for 1 time because And I promise myself to be more active with this blog during this holiday and look! I changed to a new blogskin. Yeayyyyy. That's all for now. thii Where have I been?
Saturday, 16 August 2014 | 19:08 | 0Comment Hello dudes and dudettes. xD It's been 10 months since my last update lmao. I dunno why maybe its bcus I've been too busy or maybe I've just been lazy to update. Haha. I've been 16 yrs old for 6 months now. (since my bornday last march) So, this is the "sweet 16" time. But as far as I can see, my 16 yrs old life is not as sweet as the pharse say. In fact, it's getting bitter. More bitter than other years of my life.p Maybe I'm just being childish. I'm not the only one who is hurting here, so I shouldn't complain. I must admit, I'm kinda lucky this year. For reasons that only myself knows. I'm just gonna live my life to the fullest and enjoy it as long as I can. ;) Still trying to find myself. p/s: Hopefully I'll be more active on updating my blog. And this blog is still "under construction" and is still lack on a few things. Ingrown Toenail. My worst nightmare ever.
Sunday, 10 November 2013 | 00:14 | 0Comment So, right now I'm having one of those "ingrown toenail" or "cengkam kuku or cagu" in Malay. It's sucking my life out of me. I can't walk without feeling pain. I can't play sports because I can't handle the pain. It's also making me disappoint my friends because I can't join them in any sports activity. But it's not like I did it on purpose. I wanted to join but I can't. Thank god they understand me. So, ingrown toenail looks like this. The main reason that this happen is because of improper nail cutting or because of wearing tight shoes. These are the mistakes that I made and I got the ingrown toenail as a punishment.
I'm gonna go to the hospital to get a simple surgery done because mine are already in the ''Critical'' phase. If it's still in the early phase, you cat treat it using some home treatments. These treatment doesn't cost much and it's also easy to do. But there is just one problem, if you're not a painless person, you should eat some painkillers before doing the treatment.
That, my dear. Is the surgery that I am going to have.
Well, for now. I'm just going to hold the pain in. Wish me luck on the surgery.
Till' then.
